Born in Ireland and educated at London’s Slade School of Art, Colleen Browning (1918-2003) played a significant role in American postwar realism.  Immigrating to the United States in 1949, she became an American citizen the following year, finding decades of success as she developed her own brand of magical realism.  Authored by AICA member Philip Eliasoph, this book serves as the exhibition catalogue for two concurrent exhibitions that reexamine a prolific career spanning more than seven decades.

Headquartered in New York, AICA-USA's membership comprises over 400 critics, curators, scholars, and art historians working throughout the United States.
