The International Association of Art Critics (AICA) and Emory University are mounting a symposium to look at how writers and editors are working to highlight visual art created outside of commercial art centers on a local, national and international level.

Lindsay Pollock, Editor of Art in America, will deliver the keynote address. Other confirmed speakers include Ben Davis, Editor of ArtInfo.com (New York), Rainey Knudson, Publisher of Glasstire (Houston), Gean Moreno, freelance critic (Miami), Joao Ribas, AICA Board Member and Curator of the List Visual Art Center (Boston), Jen Rothacker, Innovations Editor at the Charlotte Observer (Charlotte) and Claire Tancons, freelance critic (New Orleans).
